Prima Domus' VIRTUS Toscana IGT is a fruity, elegant and rich red wine made from a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.
The Prima Domus project took its roots in 2020, thanks to Virtus. This first vintage is the result of six years of tasting and visiting wine regions, experiences that Emanuele and Stefano embarked on as communicators in the world of wine.
For VIRTUS, following manual harvest throughout second-third week of September, each of the three grape varieties
undergoes separate vinification, followed by aging in wood: the Sangiovese matures for 18 months in large oak barrels, while the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are aged for 18 months in barriques.
Virtus 2021 presents itself with a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, it surprises with great complexity: bright fruit notes of cherry and pomegranate, with delicate spicy nuances, make the bouquet alluring and satisfying.
On the palate, it is refined and impeccably balanced, with vibrant freshness harmoniously blending into silky tannins, delivering a tasting experience of deep, rich intensity.
The finish is long, persistent, and very satisfying. After the first glass, more will naturally follow delivering still freshness and smooth drinkability: which are the defining features of Virtus 2021.
Food-match: A gorgeous pairing with rich sauces and pasta dishes, red meats such as “Beef alla Fiorentina”, and various roasted meat and charred vegetables. A very pleasant glass on its own, too!!
