About the Winery
“Maso Mirì, a boutique vineyard in the heart of the Trento DOC landscape”
Maso Mirì is a family-run estate that balances hospitality with winemaking, led today by the passionate owner Martin, who is guiding Maso toward a promising future.
Let’s go back almost forty years, to 1986, when Mara and Corrado (Martin’s parents-in-law) purchased several plots in the Romagnano area. These lands were previously planted mainly with apples and pears. With a desire to invest in agriculture and ambitious plans for winemaking, Mara Mittenstainer took on the wine project and gave it her own name.
The vision of creating a project that would withstand the test of time took shape through the restoration of the old farmhouse (Maso), nestled in the landscape on the edge of Romagnano, and the direct processing of the grapes, which gave birth to their own bottled wine line. The new identity of the Mittenstainer farmhouse (Maso) also required a new name: by combining the first two letters of Mara Mittenstainer’s surname with those of Corrado Rigotti, Maso Mirì was born.
Today, Maso Mirì covers 12 hectares, almost entirely planted with vineyards. Most are located in the village of Romagnano, with additional plots in the nearby villages of Povo, Casteller, and Trecastello, and a final parcel in Cadine. Their flagship wine is the Metodo Classico Trento DOC Brut, made from 100% Chardonnay and aged 38 months sur lie.
The chosen symbol representing both the wine and the estate is Neptune’s trident, a statue of which adorns the fountain of the same name at Piazza Duomo in Trento. The trident also references the city’s ancient Roman name: Tridentum.
A young winery with a historic and deeply rooted origin, embodying an ambitious project for refined TRENTO DOC Spumante Metodo Classico.
With passion and precision, Maso Mirì elevates both the art of winemaking and their genuine hospitality to a higher level!
