About the Winery
"Old traditions are the solid foundations that allow us to look towards the future" — Giordano Mattioli, winemaker.
The Poderi Mattioli winery is nestled in the hills of the municipality of Serra de' Conti, at the very heart of the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi D.O.C. wine-growing area — a stretch of land that unfolds along the valley of the Esino river. This is a region shaped by the influence of the sea, the sun, the breezes, the rainfall and the shelter provided by the mountains, resulting in a temperate climate particularly well-suited to organic viticulture. In the 1960s, drawing on the agricultural traditions of his father Armando, Argilio Mattioli established a small family business — a reality built on passion for the land and respect for its work. Initially focused on the production of Verdicchio grapes, wheat and olive oil, with the passing of generations it broadened its horizons and stepped into the world of oenology.
The construction of a modern, organically run winery, completely immersed in the vineyards, was the natural culmination of a project aimed at preserving and enhancing the value of the grapes — which in this way can be processed within just minutes of harvest. By starting from the earth and ending at the grape cluster, quality wines with a strong territorial character can be produced.
Three Cru vineyards are carefully managed in harmony with the land, each yielding distinctive results and reflecting the greatest care for sustainable farming. Vigneto "La Spina" for the Verdicchio YLICE, vigneto "Mogliette" for the Riserva LAURO, and vigneto "Grecale" (Verdicchio 85% Chardonnay 15%) for their Metodo Classico DOSAGGIO ZERO.
Grapes, wisdom, passion, identity and superior elegance: that is the Mattioli family's way of making wine. Discover the great personality of their wines here at LAURUSVINI and… dream along!
