AUDENO Irpinia Aglianico DOP

Sale price €43,95

“IRPINIA AUDENO DOP”, is Masseria Della Porta's new Irpinia Aglianico — a wine rooted in place and history. Its name pays homage to the church of S. Audeno, a 12th-century chapel and cherished landmark at the heart of the medieval hamlet of Monteaperto.
The AUDENO Cru is crafted by blending grapes from their estate 4 Cru’s Aglianico vineyards, bringing together the character of each individual plot into a single, balanced expression — The result : a very precise identity, a very harmonious, intense, warm and satisfying red wine, which honors the vintage whilst holding true to its own distinct identity.
After harvest, following an extremely caring work in the vineyard, the vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks, with daily “pumping over” of the “hat” of grapes, a long maceration in contact with grape’s skins for at least 15 days.
Refinement takes place then in oak’s barriques & tonneaux for at least 12 months, with a small passage in steel again for some resting and further in the bottle, before release to the market.
In appearance, it shows a intense ruby red colour. The nose is very inviting and deep, intense, delivering notes of ripe cherry and amarena. The sip is intense, warm and distinguished by and enveloping character, great structure and aromatic depth. The wine has not undergone any filtering or clarification (natural decantation process).
Food pairing: a gorgeous match with red meats and a wide selection of mature cheeses.
Recommended serving temperature: 17-18 °C.
